I ran a lap around Chatfield Reservoir and took five photos in 15 miles, a new minimum record I think. The last 8 miles I didn't stop except to fill my bottle. I counted roughly 165 strides per minute around mile 13. Breathing was a little labored, and I had to take a catch-up breath every so often.
So, here are 60% of my photos for the day:
Like I said, dreary and gray. Come back, sun!
Distance was 15.75 miles, time 2:27 (moving 2:23), elevation gain/loss 735 feet, avg. pace 9:20 (moving 9:06), and best pace 6:53.
For me, 9:00 miles for 2 1/2 hours is maybe a 75% to 80% effort run. The stomach was churning a little afterwards, but not as bad as at White Ranch last week. Also tough not stopping. Unfamiliar territory.
