I also haven't run any significant distance since October, and wanted to get out for a real run. Plus I've got a 10-mile plus average per run for the year (don't ask me how), and I didn't want to blow it at the very end. Flat and slow was the order of the day. So I ran some laps below Telegraph Hill.
It was snowing, but if I dress right it's one of my favorite times to run.
I created this public service announcement after I fell on my rear on the only sheer ice slope on the entire circuit:
This was a super-slow run, with about an hour and 30 minutes blown on photos and standing around fussing with gear. But I got to work at the end and just barely met my goal distance. It may seem like hardship to spend 3 cold hours out in the snow, but if it were, I wouldn't do it. Heh.
Distance was 10.04 miles, time 3:21 (moving 2:22), elevation gain/loss 1,240 feet, avg. pace 20:02 (moving 14:10), and best pace 7:16.
I guess it wasn't all that flat. Close enough.
