The view across the valley is of the West Needle Mountains, a sub-group of the San Juan Range. Probably the best view I've seen from a U.S. ski area. So far.
I hung out on the back side of the resort, lapping the chairs serving the more difficult trails. Not crowded at all. I don't ski them that well, but it's fun.
Towards the end of the day, a storm rolled in over the Needles, first surrounding the peaks with wisps of cloud, then obscuring them.
Snow cover was slightly challenging at times, but it's still early.
Generally conditions were great; i.e. good cover and very few rocks.
