The view from next to the patrol hut above Alberta chair, which is a short boot-pack up the ridge from the top of the chair lift:
Over the top, this was the view to the left:
I was solo and without a beacon, so I stuck to the lift-served terrain.
The trail map seemed to suggest that the good tree terrain was on Alberta lift, and it did not disappoint. Most of my few hours was spent dropping down the front of a ridge that ran along skier's right, into meadows, then down another drop to the runout to the lift. There were cliffs, but they were marked and easily avoided.
Below the cliffs/ridge, were some powdery meadows, one of which I named "Field of Dreams". Traffic was sparse and powder remained.
Here I am skiing in slow-motion through strips of powder:

I filled the growler and my stomach at Amica's in Salida. Still my favorite brew pub in the Arkansas Valley.
