Coyote Tag

I got out for an early hike to the top of Green in Lakewood as a group of coyotes was heading back up after a night on the town. There five of them, and they made their way up-mountain, avoiding the single hiker with dog that seemed to be on every ridge. Along the way, these two were playing tag around a group of bushes:

Ha! I see you!
I'm pretty sure I saw crows playing around while they were flying down off the mountain, too. They weren't being combative, but they kept leapfrogging each other as they flew downhill, sort of buzzing each other in an innocent way. They're perfectly capable of flying apart from each other in unison, but they were like two teenagers pushing each other, messing around. I have no idea if that was really going on, but sometimes I think I should have been a field biologist so I can find out.
