Wednesday Bear Creek Run

The day after I got back from Carbondale was an easy run along the creek. And by "easy", I mean mtnrunner2 easy -- 10 to 12-minute miles -- not competitive runner/10 miles @ 7:00 pace lunch jog "easy". I mean, if I run too fast the mosquitos will smack me so hard it will hurt. I don't want that.

Bear Creek is still ridiculously high, and I have no idea why. We haven't had a decent rain in two weeks. Maybe they are slowly draining Bear Creek Lake or something.

The water is high enough to have flooded some of the riverside trails, and I can see the river banks being actively re-written by the raging waters.

A distant Mount Morrison under pink sunset clouds:

Distance was 7.03 miles, time 1:25 (moving 1:10), elevation gain/loss 181 feet, avg. pace 12:10 (moving 10:02), and best pace 1:32.
