Thursday Clear Creek Lunch Run

A rare noon run, because we had company after-work activities planned. I actually like mixing it up and getting out mid-day, but I don't really like the logistics: time pressures, clothing changes, sweat(!), blah blah. I like to run on my own schedule, open ended. But it's better than getting zip for the day.

Water flowing through the woods along Clear Creek. It was sort of amusing seeing ducks floating around in the forest. Less amusing for folks who almost lost their home to food waters coming within a few feet of their house.

This snake on the trail tried to slither away, but I didn't give up that easily. With cooler days, I'm guessing reptiles are going to try to bask in the sun more. Bad for runners if they are rattlesnakes...

Distance was 3.11 miles, time 40:26 (moving 34:23), elevation gain/loss 37 feet, avg. pace 13:00 (moving 11:03), and best pace ~8:00.
