I headed to Green Mountain in Lakewood, parked on the north side, and did a loop around the mountain: a bit of Summit Trail, Rooney Valley, then around to the Florida lot and up the road towards the neighborhood access trails on the east side. One traverse is still closed, and you have to go on streets for a couple of blocks.
Distance was 11.36 miles, time 2:28 (moving 2:04), elevation gain/loss 1,910 feet, avg. pace 13:04 (moving 10:57), and best pace 6:20.
I was shopping on the way home near Belmar in Lakewood and remembered that Scott Jurek (link is for any non-runners out there) had a book signing at the local Runner's Roost, so I stopped by and got a signed copy of Eat and Run, which I had intended to buy anyway. Cool! I mentioned to him our meeting at the Hessie Trailhead when he had two "friends from Europe" tagging along, and he said one of them was a Corinne who had run UTMB, I'm guessing this one, so no wonder they promptly dropped me. Scott said he's focusing on Leadville. Gracious guy. Glad I decided to drop in.
