Monday Ralston Creek Run

I was a little sore after yesterday's run at Walker Ranch, mostly at the bottom of the left hamstring where it narrows to tendons on the outside. Was it the climbing? Was it the change in gait to stave off some abdominal soreness caused by over-rotation in the hips? Such are the checks and balances of trying to keep running from day to day. Tweak, run, hurt, tweak, run. It works, so I keep rolling on.

I flushed a coyote off a side trail near this spot. The bare tree branches were interesting with the warm and cool pastels of the sky behind, so I walked out onto the trunk to try to find a good vantage point.

Luckily, a blood-red sunset sky had formed to the west. Amazing.

Distance was 7.10 miles, time 1:29 (moving 1:14), elevation gain/loss 177 feet, avg. pace 12:33 (moving 10:33), and best pace 6:45.
