We're starting to edge into the spring/summer cycle of sunny mornings and afternoon showers. After starting out in shorts and a T-shirt, halfway through this run I got pelted with bits of slush that still had bright white snow in them, creating shockingly white dots on the dark dirt. The wind kicked up too; I was glad I had arm warmers and gloves.
A full rainbow formed to the east. You can see a trail on the slope ahead:
Below is looking north about 2/3 of the way through the run. I did pretty well on the climbs, passing some bikes and keeping a good pace afterwards, but started to lag a little around mile 7 on the north side. I still feel like I am in better shape than I've been in a while. Not fast, just fit.
And looking behind me from the same spot -- wow:
Distance was 8.47 miles, time 1:49 (moving 1:28), elevation gain/loss 1,104 feet, avg. pace 12:58 (moving 10:28), and best pace 7:23.
